2027 Proposed Budget

Aug 20, 2026

Bee Cave is proposing a budget with no new taxes.

The Bee Cave 2027 proposed budget maintains the same property tax rate as last year while continuing to invest in essential services. The proposed tax rate is 2 cents for every $100 in property valuation. For the average Bee Cave homeowner, that equals about $153 in city property taxes for the year.

The city relies on sales tax to fund the majority of operational costs and maintains a healthy reserve fund. For the 2027 general fund, the city is forecasting $14.3M in revenue and $12.7M in expenses. The surplus will be transferred to the capital fund that is being used to pay for the city's new public safety building.

In addition, the city is continuing to invest in road improvements, parks, libraries and other quality of life services.

The public can comment on the proposed budget during the council meetings on August 25, September 8 or September 22. The city council will vote on the budget September 22 and the new budget goes into effect October 1.
