The Bee Cave City Council voted to work with Texas Disposal Systems on a city-wide contract which would lower the trash bill for all residents, expand services residents receive and give additional security for dependable disposal services after severe weather events.

After getting bids from multiple trash providers, city staff determined TDS offered the best rate and services for Bee Cave residents. Currently, more than 90 percent of the City's residents already use TDS, but pay dramatically different rates based on whether they live in a neighborhood where their HOA worked out a lower rate with TDS or if they live in a smaller neighborhood where they had to contract it themselves.

The rates ranged between $87-$170 under this model. With the city-wide agreement, all residents will now pay $76.77 quarterly. For those who want an extra cart, there would be additional $9 charge per month.

The new services will include weekly trash pick-up, weekly recycling pick-up, biweekly unlimited yard waste bag pick-up, and 12x/year bulky item pick-up.

The few residents who currently use a different trash provider will need to contact that provider and let them know they will be using TDS.

The new service will start before second quarter of 2024.
