
The City of Bee Cave has appointed Lieutenant Bill Pitmon as Interim Chief of Police, effective September 13, 2025.
Lt. Pitmon currently serves as the Patrol Commander for the Bee Cave Police Department, where he leads daily patrol operations and supervises frontline officers dedicated to community safety. He has been a member of the Bee Cave Police Department for the past 18 years, serving the community with professionalism and dedication.
Lt. Pitmon began his career serving as an Infantryman in the United States Army before becoming a Texas Licensed Peace Officer in 1995. He has held a variety of positions during his 30-year law enforcement career and holds multiple criminal justice degrees in leadership and management.
Lt. Pitmon holds a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Master Peace Officer’s License, is a certified TCOLE Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, and Field Training Officer, and has received extensive specialized training throughout his career. He has also presented at numerous conferences as a guest speaker on a wide range of law enforcement topics.
“I am both grateful and honored for the opportunity to serve the City of Bee Cave and the men and women of the Bee Cave Police Department in this new capacity,” said Lt. Pitmon. “Together, we will continue working to keep our community safe and to provide the highest level of service to our residents.”
Lt. Pitmon will assume the role of Interim Chief following the retirement of Chief Brian Jones.
