City Council Approves Park Master Plan

City Council Approves Park Master Plan

Bee Cave, Texas (September 12th, 2023) – The Bee Cave City Council voted to adopt a new master plan for Bee Cave Central Park which will include more accessibility through an expanded road network and additional parking as well as the possibility of more amenities, which could include a splash pad, pickleball courts and an all abilities play area, among other features.

“We have been so excited to update our park and we know what the community wants thanks to surveys we’ve put out with hundreds of respondents,” said Bee Cave Mayor King. “With these additional amenities, Bee Cave will not only be a destination for its shopping and dining, but for wonderful outdoor recreation as well.”

Estimated cost for design and infrastructure only will be more than $5 Million, which is proposed to come through bonds, the City’s general fund and its Economic Development Corporation. The construction, which includes the amenities mentioned, will come through fundraising and outside grants.

“Design will likely take until next summer and then in Fall we hope to start the build out of the infrastructure,” said Bee Cave Assistant City Manager Lindsey Oskoui, who led the design of the master plan. “Once we get the design phase started, we can work on fundraising.”

After adopting the plan, the City Council voted unanimously to put out a Request for Qualifications for the design.
